ACANTA Vase
Made by Vetreria Artistica Archimede Seguso, 2019
Material Black Amethyst Murano Blown Glass
Inspired by Vase from the pottery collection of the Museum in Milan, Italy
“They were thorns that pierced my soul and turned into flowers”
The Murano glass Acanta vase is a reinterpretation of the impasto and bucchero pottery collection that will be showcased at the Etruscan Museum in Corso Venezia, Milan. The museum, owned by the Luigi Rovati Foundation and designed by Mario Cucinella Architects, is currently under construction.
The spikes on the handles of the Etruscan artefact are now covering the whole surface, creating a “vase of thorns”. The blown glass technique makes every vase a unique piece.
